HC Deb 03 February 1943 vol 386 c911W
Mr. Banfield

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he can now make a statement as to the result of his discussions with the Ministry of Labour as to the new arrangements respecting man-power in the baking industry, seeing that these have been proceeding for three months and, in the meantime, men and women are being taken from the trade without due regard to its necessities as provider of the nation's staple food?

Mr. Mabane

Arrangements have now been made for the transfer of bakers to fill urgent vacancies after appropriate consultation between the local officers of the respective Departments.
