HC Deb 17 December 1943 vol 395 c1833W
Major York

asked the Minister of Food whether the extra sum or premium paid for the production of tuberculin-tested milk is the same as the maximum sum payable for the distribution of tuberculin-tested milk; and in what circumstances the maximum additional margin is payable to each type of distributor?

Colonel Llewellin

The answer to the first part of the Question is in the affirmative. The answer to the second part is that the maximum additional margin for the distribution of T.T. milk is payable to producer-retailers selling their own T.T. milk and to retailers who obtain T.T. milk direct from the producers. When T.T. milk is handled by both wholesaler and retailer the combined additional margin allowed for the distribution is 4d. a gallon and of that 4d. the wholesaler may not retain more than 2d. a gallon.
