HC Deb 17 December 1943 vol 395 cc1830-1W
Mr. Wood

asked the Minister of Labour whether any progress has yet been made with his proposals for alleviating the shortage of domestic help in private households where there are special circumstances, such as confinement and sickness; and whether he is yet in a position to make the general statement to which he referred in the House on 14th October last?

Mr. Bevin

In the statement I made to the House on 4th November I made it clear that it was my intention to seek the advice of the Advisory Committee, whose appointment I then announced, on this matter. This Committee will be meeting very shortly.
