HC Deb 14 December 1943 vol 395 c1412W
Mr. Rostron Duckworth

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the prices paid to the West African natives for cocoa and ground nuts are reflected in the local demand for Lancashire textiles?

Colonel Stanley

Yes, Sir. The ensuing demand is very strong and is being met to the fullest extent possible having regard to the limited amounts of textiles available for export and the other demands upon them.
