HC Deb 14 December 1943 vol 395 c1423W
Sir W. Smiles

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether the Norwegian Foreign Trade Mission are paying the money due to British other ranks for keeping sabotage watches in foreign ports?

Mr. Noel-Baker

Payments to British service personnel employed on sabotage watch on all ships under the control of the Minister of War Transport in foreign ports are made at the rates laid down in the Admiralty Instructions in force at the time. On Norwegian ships on timecharter to the Minister, the payments are made by the master and the incidence of the charge is governed by general arrangements for the use of Norwegian ships.
