HC Deb 14 December 1943 vol 395 cc1422-3W
Mr. Jackson

asked the Minister of Food whether his attention has been drawn to the evidence given in a recent High Court Case, which included the fact that the ground nut cake in dispute passed through five hands before it reached the consumer; whether it is necessary and usual to have so many distributors; and what would be the profits allowed to each one?

Mr. Mabane

Yes, Sir. The sale to the farmer in the case to which my hon. Friend refers took place in September, 1938, before the Ministry of Food was established. I have no information other than what has appeared in the Press.
