HC Deb 09 December 1943 vol 395 cc1143-4W
Mr. W. J. Brown

asked the Minister of Labour whether persons directed by his Department to clerical employment in Government establishments away from their home towns are entitled to the concession of reduced rail fares for periodical visits to their home town?

Mr. Bevin

No, Sir. Clerical workers who take up duty in a Government Department come under the conditions of employment applicable to civil servants which, I understand, do not include the concession as to cheap fares granted to transferred workers in industry.
