HC Deb 09 December 1943 vol 395 c1154W
Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the President of the Board of Education whether it is with his approval that propaganda, entertainment and military training films are shown to children of secondary school age depicting the horrors of modern warfare; whether inquiries are made by qualified persons into the effects of those films on the minds of the children in relation to their further education; and, if so, with what results?

Mr. Butler

My responsibility for the nature of the films shown to children of school age is limited, but if the hon. Member will give me particulars of the film exhibitions which he thinks unsuitable I will consider whether any action should be taken.
