HC Deb 05 August 1943 vol 391 cc2479-80W
Mr. J. Dugdale

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether arrangements simi- lar to those in existence in the Army and Royal Air Force can be made for sailors returning home after an absence of more than a year to get a longer period of leave than 14 days?

Captain Pilkington

Current Admiralty orders provide that men returning from foreign service shall be granted leave on the scale of seven days for every six months abroad, with the proviso that leave in excess of 21 days is subject to drafting requirements.
