HC Deb 05 August 1943 vol 391 cc2490-1W
Mr. Perkins

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he proposes to use the Girls' Training Corps as an instrument of part-time education for girls between 16 and 18 years of age in the new Education Bill?

Mr. Butler

The Girls' Training Corps is a voluntary organisation offering girls opportunities for training and service freely undertaken during their leisure time. It constitutes an element in the Youth Service and as such will, I hope, continue to make a substantial contribution to the training of girls on the basis outlined in paragraph 92 of the recent White Paper on Educational Reconstruction.
