§ Miss HorsbrughAs my right hon. Friend explained in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Tamworth (Sir J. Mellor) on 8th and 15th July, the obligations placed on householders on whom evacuated children are billeted differ from those entailed by the billeting of Service personnel, or of war workers, the latter being billeted for lodging only and making their own arrangements for board. When the billeting allowances for unaccompanied children were last increased in May, 1942, an amount was specifically included to cover wear and tear. The position is kept under constant review; but my right hon. Friend thinks that no further increases are justified at present.
