§ Mr. Leachasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that during the last 2319W six months two-deaths have occurred in London fever hospitals of children who reacted violently to injections of anti-scarlet fever serum; that in each case the type of scarlet fever was mild; that each child had previously had anti-diphtheria injections; that expert evidence at each inquest suggested that the children had been sensitised by the previous inoculations; and whether he will discourage anti-scarlet fever serum injections in view of the extremely low fatality of scarlet fever and the almost universal mildness of that disease?
