§ Mr. Martinasked the Minister of Health whether he will take appropriate measures to secure that owners of rented houses, which in the normal course of events would have been condemned or included in clearance areas, etc., and which, owing 1855W to the repair expenditure by local authorities, have been rendered fit for temporary occupation, shall not thereby be enabled to obtain a higher rate of compensation when local authorities undertake fresh building operations after the war?
§ Mr. E. BrownI can assure my hon. Friend that the fact that action has been taken to bring houses back into temporary occupation will not affect their position in relation to the slum clearance procedure laid down in the existing Housing Acts.
