HC Deb 14 April 1943 vol 388 cc1222-3W
Mr. Pearson

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he will cause to be issued to all Government Departments an instruction that Wales shall have representation on all bodies undertaking a national investigation, in order to avoid such oversight as occurred in the absence of representation from Wales on the National Council for the Recruitment and Distribution of Nurses and Midwives?

Mr. Assheton

The question of Welsh representation on committees, advisory councils and similar bodies was the subject of a directive issued a year ago to Government Departments. The text was contained in the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Deputy Prime Minister on 24th March, 1942, of which I am sending my hon. Friend a copy.
