HC Deb 13 April 1943 vol 388 c1074W
Mr. Burke

asked the Secretary of State for War whether men called up for service in the Army who suffer from various forms of foot trouble, particularly those suffering from flat feet, are given special treatment and consideration and supplied with any necessary appliances free of charge?

Sir J. Grigg

Yes, Sir. Foot trouble influences a man's medical classification. Specialist advice and treatment are available in the Army not only in hospitals but in physical development centres and in addition chiropodists are attached to medical units in this country. Light boots and special appliances are supplied free of charge if they are needed.
