HC Deb 29 September 1942 vol 383 cc689-90W
Mr. Perkins

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he will inquire into the recent increase in the fares of the omnibus service between Stroud and Waterlane, with a view to seeing if they are justified?

Mr. Noel-Baker

No increase in fare has been authorised on the omnibus service between Stroud and Oakridge, which serves Waterlane. The omnibus company recently gave instructions which resulted in passengers between Waterlane and Stroud being unable to obtain the benefit of the return fare between Oakridge and Stroud. The Regional Transport Commissioner is issuing to the company a direction which will make the return fare available to Waterlane passengers.
