HC Deb 11 September 1942 vol 383 c545W
Sir L. Lyle

asked the Minister of Labour the nature of the amended proposals affecting wages in the catering trade which he is submitting to those interested; and what interval will be given for their consideration prior to any further action being taken?

Mr. Bevin

I have arranged to meet representatives of employers' organisations and trade unions in order to discuss with them draft proposals which have been amended in the light of representations made to me. After full consideration of any views which may be expressed by the representatives of the trade, proposals will be laid before Parliament. As regards the latter part of the Question, I am not in a position to fix any definite times.
