HC Deb 10 September 1942 vol 383 c313W
Sir W. Davison

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will make an immediate investigation into the dispute arising from the allegations and denials as to the slowing down of work at the Liverpool docks, stated to be caused by inadequate supervision and equipment, so that the public may be assured that ships are being turned round at Liverpool in the shortest possible time?

Mr. Bevin

My right hon. Friend the Minister of War Transport and I have appointed Sir John Forster to review the conditions obtaining under the Merseyside dock labour scheme, and to report to us thereon.
