HC Deb 08 September 1942 vol 383 c60W
Mr. W. Brown

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he has considered the representations made to him by the hon. Member for Rugby in regard to the case of Private N. Smith, 75762, Royal Army Service Corps; whether he will see that this man's case is not determined on the basis of whether he has been to a public school, and that while the case is being considered the man is not ordered abroad; and when he expects to be in a position to give the result of his consideration?

Sir J. Grigg

I wrote to the hon. Member about this case on 25th August. If my letter has not reached him I will send him a copy. In this letter I told him that the matter had been gone into thoroughly, and that Mr. Smith fully understood the position. He has since proceeded overseas.
