HC Deb 22 October 1942 vol 383 c2150W
Mr. White

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what rates of duty are being paid on goods being imported from America under the Lend-Lease Agreement?

Sir K. Wood

During the course of the war a large volume of goods which are imported predominantly for Government use have been exempted from duty by Treasury Order. Other goods, whether imported under Lend-Lease arrangements or otherwise, which are liable to Customs Duty, are charged at the statutory rates.
