HC Deb 15 October 1942 vol 383 c1787W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that new methods practised abroad of obtaining finger-prints from dead bodies have proved an important means of identification of persons found dead; and whether he will institute this procedure in this country?

Mr. H. Morrison

It has long been the practice in this country to take the fingerprints of unidentified dead persons, and a number of identifications have been secured by this means. I am not aware of any new technique which has been adopted abroad, and if my hon. Friend has any information on the subject I shall be glad if he will send me particulars.
