§ Sir A. DuncanA larger proportion of heavy scrap is desirable in the furnace charges to enable maximum output of iron and steel to be obtained. The Ministry of Works and Planning have already provided substantial tonnages under the national survey scheme from unused structures and machinery, and the extension of the scope of this scheme is under consideration.
