HC Deb 26 November 1942 vol 385 cc896-7W
Mr. Spearman

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will take steps to remedy the anomaly by which men who have been directed to work away from their own homes receive a lodging allowance while those who found work for themselves, who are doing the same work at the same bench for the same wage and have the same lodging expenses, do not receive this allowance?

Mr. Bevin

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave on 4th June to my hon. Friend the Member for East Fife (Mr. Henderson Stewart), a copy of which I am sending him.
