HC Deb 24 November 1942 vol 385 c683W
Wing-Commander Grant-Ferris

asked the Minister of Information whether, in view of the Scott Ford case, he will cause all licensees to affix a warning in their bars that enemy agents may be active in their endeavours to establish connection with British seamen with the object of extracting information harmful to this country?

Mr. Bracken

I have no power to cause licensees to do anything, but the dangers of careless talk are a regular theme of the Ministry of Information's output. By arrangement with the licensees warning posters are already widely used in bars and public houses in dock areas.
