Major Lloyd GeorgeA general decision has been taken to suspend for the time being the issue of departmental reports not immediately essential to the war effort. Information and statistics relating to accidents in mines have, however, been given from time to time to the House and elsewhere and in addition in each year since the war, His Majesty's Divisional Inspectors of Mines have circulated to collieries in their respective divisions details of accidents during the previous year together with suggested means for effecting improvement. I am glad to say that the figures for the present year are considerably lower than those for the corresponding period of 1941.
