HC Deb 18 November 1942 vol 385 c378W
Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he is aware that many persons engaged in gardening and horticulture lay up their motor vehicles during the winter months, using them regularly later on when produce is ripe for sale; and will he grant exemption for these persons from any order requisitioning such laid-up vehicles?

Mr. Noel-Baker

In every case where it is proposed to requisition a motor vehicle, full consideration is given to any claim by the owner that the vehicle is periodically used for essential work.
