HC Deb 18 November 1942 vol 385 c382W
Major Kimball

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will issue instructions to officers in charge of barracks in the Scottish Command that they may give certificates to enable officers in that command to obtain payment of field allowance for the 12 months prior to May, 1942, when such officers were living in completely unfurnished accommodation, and none of the articles in War Accommodation Schedule No. 10 were provided?

Sir J. Grigg

I have no reason to think that field allowance has not been issued in the Scottish Command where entitlement existed. If any officer considers that he has not received field allowance to which he was entitled he should bring the matter to the notice of his unit Commander. If my hon. and gallant Friend is aware of any case in which field allowance has been improperly withheld I shall be glad if he will let me have the particulars.
