§ Mr. Garro JonesOn 24th June my right Hon. Friend made a statement in the House in which he dealt very fully with the setting up and functions of the Combined Production and Resources Board. Since this statement was made the Dominion of Canada has been admitted to full membership of the Board, whilst the Commonwealth Supply Council has been created to co-ordinate the production of the Dominions (other than Canada) and India with that of the United Kingdom. The co-ordinated picture of Empire production obtained through the machinery of the Commonwealth Supply Council is transmitted to the British representative on the Combined Production and Resources Board in Washington, where it is integrated with the production of North America, and where the needs of the United Nations as a whole are fully taken into account. My hon. Friend will thus see that in the Combined Production and Resources Board practical and far-reaching machinery already exists for the co-ordination of Allied production.
