§ Captain Ramsayasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has any records of the number of mobile women workers transported to England for war work up to 31st October, 1942; and whether he will consider, with a view to including in these records the information whether these women were expatriated 2302W against their will, inserting notices in the papers asking any of them who wish to return to Scotland for work, when available, immediately to notify either the Scottish Home Department or the Scottish Council for Industry, giving the address of their present place of employment?
§ Mr. BevinI have been asked to reply. The number of women transferred from Scotland to employment in England after registration under the Registration for Employment Order and the National Service Act was 2,267 for the period from 16th May, 1942, to 3rd October, 1942. As regards the second part of the Question, I would refer to the reply of the Secretary of State for Scotland on 9th September, 1942, and my reply to the hon. Member for East Aberdeen (Mr. Boothby) on 8th October, 1942.
