§ Mr. PeakeI have been asked to reply. Such information as is available confirms the statement made by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Warfare in reply to the hon. Member for Rugby (Mr. W. Brown) on 30th September last. The efforts of the International Red Cross have been confined to sending medical supplies. The difficulties in the way of sending food supplies were explained in the statement referred to above. As regards communications, the International Red Cross are doing their best to help, but the transmission of messages from and to the islands necessarily depends on the arrangements made by the German Government.
