HC Deb 25 March 1942 vol 378 c2011W
Mr. David Adams

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the Wages Board, recently set up in Kingston, Jamaica, is taking active steps to remove the anomalies between the stationary wages and the rising cost of living, concerning which there is much public discontent?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

The Governor of Jamaica has now received the reports of the Wages Board and the Prices Board, both of which contain recommendations for meeting the problem of the rising cost of living, and is already taking action in the light of these reports.
