§ Mr. Craven-Ellisasked the Prime Minister whether he will move for the appointment of a Select Committee to investigate the misuse of man-power in Government Departments, controlled industry and transport?
§ Mr. AttleeThe various Government Departments responsible for the organisation of public business and industry are fully aware of the importance of the economical use of man-power. Many steps have already been taken in this connection and the matter is under constant examination and review. I do not think that a Select Committee would usefully assist in the work which is already being done.
