HC Deb 18 March 1942 vol 378 cc1524-5W
Mr. Stokes

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether it is the policy of his Department to encourage industrial workers to take as many meals as they can in works canteens; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take to make that policy abundantly clear to the people concerned?

Major Lloyd George

It is the desire of my Noble Friend and I understand of my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour that workers should take full advantage in the interests of health and efficiency of the facilities offered by works canteens. This policy which has been the subject of consultation with employers' and workers' representatives, is, I consider, well understood by all concerned.
