HC Deb 17 March 1942 vol 378 c1353W
Mr. Parker

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he can now follow up the Prime Minister's favourable reply on an earlier occasion by naming one of the new battleships after Admiral Blake?

Mr. Alexander

As a Somerset man, nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see the name "Blake" given to one of our new ships. It has not been found possible, however, to give this name to one of our new battleships which have already been named. The question of naming another ship after Admiral Blake will not be lost sight of.
