HC Deb 17 March 1942 vol 378 cc1352-3W
Sir W. Smithers

asked the Secretary for Mines (1) the percentage of sickness, accident and voluntary absenteeism in the Frickley, Grimthorpe and Hatfield pits for May, 1941, September, 1941, and January, 1942;

(2) The figures for sickness, accident and voluntary absenteeism of coal-face workers, other underground workers and surface workers in the South Yorkshire coalfield for the month of January, 1942?

Mr. Grenfell

I regret that it is not in the public interest to give statistics of the type asked for. In any case, it is not practicable, within the limits of Question and answer, to present a true picture.
