HC Deb 11 March 1942 vol 378 c1074W
Mr. Lawson

asked the Minister of Supply whether he has considered the appointments of a representative in each industrial region to whom he can delegate authority to deal directly with deficiences known to the Regional Production Council or persons engaged in the various works; and whether he is prepared to make such an appointment?

Sir A. Duncan

The Ministry's regional controllers and the regional officers of the Production Departments and the controls already have authority to take appropriate action under general directions from headquarters. As the House knows, a Committee, of which Sir Walter Citrine is chairman, has been appointed to review the regional organisation of production.
