HC Deb 30 June 1942 vol 381 c39W
Sir G. Jeffreys

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether his Department is aware of the shortage of threshing sets; and whether he is taking all possible steps to increase the number?

Mr. Hudson

I am aware that in certain parts of the country last season there was a deficiency of threshing sets for dealing with urgent work. The output of new threshing machines this year promises to show a substantial increase on that of previous seasons, and my Department is proposing to exercise the closest super vision of the distribution and employment of machines. I am hopeful that by these means the difficulties encountered last season may be substantially diminished.
