HC Deb 30 June 1942 vol 381 c40W
Lieut.-Commander Braithwaite

asked the Prime Minister whether, following the improvement in the remuneration of miners, he will now address himself to raising the basic pay of the rank and file of His Majesty's Forces, with a view to bringing this more in line with industrial wages and the rates prevailing in the Fighting Services of His Majesty's Dominions and the United States of America?

The Prime Minister

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer which was given on 2nd June in reply to a Question by my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Epsom (Sir A. Southby), of which I am sending him a copy.
