HC Deb 24 June 1942 vol 380 c1997W
Sir G. Gibson

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many tons of goods are awaiting shipping space to South Africa, although in possession of South African essentiality import permits; and to what extent shipping space is occupied by parcels post goods which require no essentiality permit?

Mr. Johnstone

It would not be in the public interest to give the figure asked for in the first part of the Question. As regards the last part of the Question,. I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply to a similar Question which was given to him to-day by my right hon. and learned Friend the Postmaster-General.
