HC Deb 24 June 1942 vol 380 c1997W
Mr. Glenvil Hall

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether further coupons will be required in respect of uniforms about to be issued to employees of the Ministry of Works and Buildings; and, if so, will he give consideration to the fact that coupons have already been surrendered for last year's uniforms, due for issue, before the operation of the clothing coupon system?

Captain Waterhouse

Under special arrangements, wearers of essential uniforms surrender coupons by instalments calculated on the saving in wear and tear of their ordinary clothing over a period of a year, and coupons are not surrendered for the actual unifoms issued.
