§ Sir H. Williamsasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will reconsider the decision to eliminate from cocoa distribution those experts whose activities built up the important import. and export trade in this commodity, and whose activities will be essential at the close of hostilities?
§ Mr. MabaneMy Noble Friend's decision to simplify the arrangements for dealing with cocoa' arrivals in order to expedite the discharge of ships and the clearance of quays was made only after careful consideration of all the circumstances. He has eliminated certain processes, which are unnecessarily using man-power and effort and delaying the dispatch of raw materials to the centres of manufacture. The decision was made solely with a view to the national interests in time of war.
