HC Deb 11 June 1942 vol 380 cc1252-3W
Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Labour how many hostels the National Service Hostels Corporation is now responsible for; how many the corporation is actually managing; of how many it has delegated the management and to whom?

Mr. McCorquoclale

The number of hostels now in operation for which the National Service Hostels Corporation are responsible is 27, of which 24 are under their direct management. In consequence of engagements entered into by the supply department concerned before the corporation took over, two are managed by Messrs. Butlin, Limited, and at the request of the supply department the management of the third was entrusted to an agency whose name I will send privately to my hon. Friend as it includes the name of the place at which it operates.
