HC Deb 10 June 1942 vol 380 c1068W
Mr. Creech Jones

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies when the recommendation of the Royal Commission to the West Indies will be implemented in respect to the annual report from the comptroller of the West Indian Welfare Fund to the Secretary of State, such report to be presented to Parliament on the work carried out under his supervision during the preceding year?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

It is proposed that the Comptroller for Development and Welfare in the West Indies should present his report later in this year. This report will cover a period of nearly two years work and has been delayed in order to enable the Comptroller to present a more complete and concrete picture of his investigations, proposals and recommendations.
