§ Mr. ButlerTeaching of the geography and history of the British Empire is generally included in school syllabuses in accordance with the Board's "Handbook of Suggestions for Teachers." A book on the British Commonwealth of Nations specially designed for the use of teachers is in course of preparation. My Department is organising a course for teachers on the English-speaking peoples which will include the Dominions and British Colonies. In addition the approved examining bodies are, I understand, considering how they can best promote the study of the British Empire through the certificate examination.
