§ Mr. Summersasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will give an assurance that food licences to voluntary or private licensed canteens for the Forces will be maintained and no change of policy in this respect is imminent?
§ Mr. MabaneCatering licences will continue to be granted to all voluntary Service canteens which are approved by Service authorities as necessary for the welfare of members of the Forces, but I understand that the Army authorities consider it necessary to review the arrangements from time to time so as to ensure that the number of such canteens in any area is not in excess of requirements.
