HC Deb 28 July 1942 vol 382 cc353-4W
Sir W. Jenkins

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport what action is being taken by his Department to prepare their scheme as a trunk-road authority for the Neath River Bridge Scheme to be ready for postwar action; will he consider the Jersey Marine improvement and the spur road leading to Jersey Marine and to Swansea as a post-war scheme and grant them high priority?

Mr. Noel-Baker

The trunk route has been safeguarded, and a report on the general constructional principles of the scheme has been prepared by consulting engineers. The Jersey Marine and spur road improvements are not trunk routes, but I shall be glad to consider any representations that the highway authorities concerned may desire to put forward.
