HC Deb 21 July 1942 vol 381 c1415W
Mr. Hammersley

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether arrangements have now been made to enable the substantial quantities of textiles, originally intended for the Dutch East Indies, to be sold in other export markets; and, if so, can, he give the headings of the agreements?

Mr. Dalton

Following discussions between the Cotton Board and the Netherlands Trading and Shipping Committee, arrangements have been made for the release of these goods to other markets. The goods will be exported mainly to West Africa, where they are urgently needed. I shall be happy to send my hon. Friend a copy of the agreement as soon as it has been signed.
