HC Deb 14 July 1942 vol 381 cc1090-1W
Mr. Naylor

asked the Home Secretary whether his recent circular to local authorities, following the Southwark explosion, has brought him any further information of the discovery of previously undetected bombs; and whether he is satisfied that there is now no danger of similar explosions in the affected areas?

Mr. H. Morrison

No circular has been issued to local authorities but reports of suspected cases of unexploded bombs are being investigated as rapidly as possible and appropriate action is taken in any case in which the report is confirmed. As regards the second part of my hon. Friend's Question I should hesitate to say that there is no danger of a similar explosion, but I am advised that the risk of anything of the kind occurring again is small.
