HC Deb 14 July 1942 vol 381 c1090W
Mr. Bower

asked the Home Secretary whether he can make any statement as to the spread of bicycle thefts; and whether, in view of the loss to poor owners, he will arrange for a broadcast on the need for care in safeguarding bicycles?

Mr. H. Morrison

I am aware that there has been a considerable increase in thefts of bicycles during the war, though the figures for the first five months of the present year in London show some reduction as compared with 1941. Endeavours have constantly been made to impress on owners the desirability of taking precautions against theft, and I think that they are already well aware of the risks.
