§ Mr. BevinThis total does not include those who have been classified as unfit for normal employment, but about 20,000 are men who, owing to age or physical disabilities, are not capable of other than light work. Men and women who have been registered as unemployed for a fortnight or longer are reviewed by panels who consider and advise on their suitability for employment or training.
